100 Acre Partnership

At the mid-way point of the Los Angeles River channel, at the site of the former Taylor rail yard, a group of government agencies  are working together to develop the largest open space along the 50 mile stretch of the river.

We worked with MRCA and other 100 Acre partners to develop a visual identity that highlights their shared goals of habitat restoration, recreation, urban green space, and the specific ecosystem and geography in this part of the LA River. The logo itself represents the bend of the river at this location, as it winds through Frogtown and Cypress Park. A system of “stamps” create a flexible pattern, representing the wildlife and recreation opportunities at this site next to the Glendale Narrows, one of the only remaining natural parts of the river that does not have a concrete bottom.
