Parking Up Front
We worked with urban planner and data scientist Herbie Huff to visualize this story of land use and what happens when cities prioritize space for cars instead of people: huge urban areas that sit mostly empty, waiting for cars to arrive and park.
This fold-out poster and infographic tells the story of parking and land use in Downtown Los Angeles and how free and under-priced parking has decimated our city centers. The larger poster side of the piece gives recommendations of what can be done to reclaim parking space from cars, including building parklets, discouraging business owners from providing free parking to employees, and reducing parking requirements in building codes.
